Our guest speaker on August 15, will be Dean Lewis, a Restoration Technician assigned to “Project Ojibwa” an endeavour of the Elgin Military Museum in St. Thomas, Ontario. The decommissioned Canadian submarine, HMCS Ojibwa, made its last journey to Port Burwell, via the Welland Canal, where it is being restored to its period status for display at the new Museum of Naval History. Dean will explain in detail the work that is required to accomplish this amazing refurbishment and the historical background of the ship.
